Устанока UBUNTU на новое железо

Решил создать тему, ибо тут ей наверное и место...

Сбрал комп для чпу-шки,.... тормозит!!! с линухом.. и дрова не видит походу..((( не видит нормально видюху, тормозит видео, но на дрова вроде не ругался, не видит сетевуху...

Как это побороть.. я таких 2 компа купил(((

воткнул pci- сетевуху... нашел себе линух драйвера на видео... BASE THREAD переваливает за 140 000

Я правда тоже в этих тонкостях не спец
Логи можно глянуть:
dmesg
лучше сразу в файл его, может быть длинный.
Плюс наверное xorg.log из /var/log , может еще kernel.log...

Можно еще конфигурацию системы посмотреть lshw, lspci и вот такие пару команд
sudo dmidecode | grep "Base Board Information" -A20
sudo lshw -sanitize
sudo lshw -sanitize -short

Да.
dmesg уже заботливо положили в файл /var/log/dmesg.
kern.log не нужен, там ничего по этой теме.

Для сетевухи и видео надо взять драйвера с оф.сайта.

скачался файлик в 22 мега с расширением .run он не запускается(

установил драйвера на видео.. тормозить перестало, но BASE THREAD всё равно за 200 000 переваливает, когда запускаю firefox

ПОставил другую видюху... BASE THREAD не переваливает за 12000 при просмотре тюбика несколько страниц....

такс... неужели всё дело в ней, и ка её правильно настроить то?

Nvidia Card configuration issues
The closed source nvidia drivers are known to be incompatible with realtime kernels. This has been reported to nvidia but they seem uninterested in fixing it, and because their drivers are not open source, nobody else can fix it either.

To get your nvidia graphics card working, edit the xorg.conf file in the /etc/X11 directory. At about line 66, in the section "Device", find a line that looks like: Driver "nvidia" , replace nvidia with "nv" or "vesa" (try "nv" first). If you have previously tried to use the nvidia driver, you must remove nvidia-related packages by issuing the following command from a terminal:

sudo apt-get --purge remove nvidia-glx nvidia-settings nvidia-kernel-common

There is at least one report that even when using the open source 'nv' driver, the latency test will show failures.

Проделав вот это... для драйвера NV получил на новой карте результаты latency ... servo 12000 base 14000 тестировал так-же на тюбике

4.1.4. NVidia and ATI graphics cards

Your machine should have smooth movement while opening and closing windows on linux. If not there may be an issue with the RT kernel, or the way it works together with your setup. First try using the open-source driver (e.g., "nv" instead of "nvidia") and then try using the unaccelerated driver ("vesa").

5. Display Issues

If you see part of the Axis tool path display missing, or just plain weird, if the mouse cursor is a blob or even if the whole machine freezes while showing video problems, you may be seeing the effects of incompatibility between your display driver and EMC2.

There are two possible solutions, either edit the xorg.conf file to use the generic slow but reliable Vesa driver (EMC2 is not graphics intensive, this won't matter) or an alternative software-only OpenGL? driver (see section 4.2)

5.1. Using Vesa Drivers
To edit xorg.conf you need to have one. This file is optional in Lucid (Ubuntu 10). if you can not see an xorg.conf in /etc/X11/ then one can be created by the command:

sudo Xorg -configure

Note:-
You cannot use this command with an existing X Server running.
In order to generate xorg.conf you need to switch to a non-graphical console using the key combination CTRL + ALT + F1 (F2..F3..etc)

Now execute the following commands:

$ sudo service gdm stop
This command will stop the X.
Now we need to generate the xorg.conf file:
$ sudo Xorg -configure
This has generated the file in ~/xorg.conf.new.
We need to make the X using it so we have to put this file inside /etc/X11/
$ sudo mv ~/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf
After moving this file to the proper location you can start the X again and see what happens:
$ sudo service gdm start
So long as X starts again you can now edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and then re-boot to see the changes.
If X fails to start, changing the name will allow you to re-start gdm on the old settings.
$ sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.failed

If you do have an existing xorg.conf then make a copy of it so that you can undo the changes:

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak

Then open xorg.conf using this terminal command



sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf


and look down until you find the following lines.

Section "Device
Identifier "Configured Video Device"

Add the following line immediately below this.

Точно.
С некоторыми NVidia, и с моей в частности, экран загрузки превращается в зебру с квадратиками вместо букв. И как с этим бороться никто не знает.
