i was looking at your engraving extension and for the life of me i can not figure what i would use it for
i tried it on a few things and have not gotten good results
i am sure it is just me

What kind of mill bit are you going to use? Shape, diameter?


You are right, engraving function is a kind of strange one . We've developed it with one of the members of cnc-club. So his problem was to cut the thing places.

For example if we have ornament with smooth edges we can cut it's internal using only large cylindrical mill (for example 1/2" ).
But how to cut sharp corners or thin places that are less than 1/4"? We can try to cut it with the cone mill bit.

So we've developed engraving function to to that job.
And later it appeared that it the whole ornament is thing enough to be cut from the first pass you can use only engraving function to create the Gcode.

It appeared to be very useful while cutting texts.
