Hello there
what is the way to go for the machine to engrave tapered lines with inkscape??
the way that the cutting head Comes slowly out of the path, but still engraves, finer and finer until not touching material anymore.

I hope you understand my bad english.. my russian is even worse

Thanks guys, will upload a pic of the thing tomorrow, I want to make an Ornament with very fine endings..
but here s already an attempt to explain..
the red dot is the maximal width of the engraving point, so you see I cannot reach the desired Corners.. only by defining the Z axis it would be
possible..
i hope it s a little more clear now.. ok .. it can seem I want too much.. and I raised the bar to high but it s really needed to make the finest engravings

yes Alex indeed.. something like v carve, but for metal, and much smaller

There's Engraving function which makes path for this kind of machining.
And a tutorial on it (probably older version, but the whole meaning is the same)

here s an exemaple of what I d like to achieve with inkscape and g code one day..
the red Areas are most visible to Show where milling Point get more high than other Areas

How do you expect those areas to be cut?
Can you show original svg?
